“The Elephant” is a short film directed by Billy D. based on an existential drama written by David D. Mukka. Starring David Mukka himself, the film takes us on a short and rather noir journey into an abandoned empty warehouse, where a philosophical dialogue between two very different, yet very similar characters begins to take place. Over the course of a heated discussion we bear witness to both a subtle and a grandiose clash of characters, both of which begin invoking important questions regarding life, death and everything in - between. The tension gradually builds up to a point where it can be felt almost as a third party between the two characters, beckoning both of them at the same time. The entire story is constructed upon the concept of secrets, remarking how fascinating it is that the most dangerous ones are in fact the secrets we end up keeping from ourselves. The climax is surprising and thought - provoking and if given the proper attention by the end of the film one ends up pondering what the act of having an identity and clinging onto one really entails.
